Stranahan House

Located in Fort Lauderdale, This house museum is rumored to be haunted by former owner Frank Stranahan.

Mr. Stranahan was a businessman who fell upon hard times during the Great Depression and committed suicide by drowning himself in the nearby river. Because he loved his home and was afraid to lose it, it is believed his spirit returned there for eternity.

His wife, Ivy, died only in the 1970's in an upstairs bedroom but her ghost is said to be here as well as well as the ghost of her father, brother, sister and an Indian servant girl.

Tourists and workers have seen apparitions and other strange occurrences, such as the fact that the bed shows an imprint where it looks like a body may be lying.
