Whimzeyland

There is a street in Safety Harbor that will stop you in your tracks. In 1985, two artists moved into the neighborhood and it hasn't been the same since.

Todd and Kiaralinda Ramquist bought a bland, brown coastal home and transformed it into an undoubtedly eye-catching permanent art installation. The home is a delightful mosaic of bright paint, tile, yard sculptures, found objects, murals of galaxies, lush, Florida foliage and lots of hand-decorated bowling balls.

Why bowling balls? The story goes, Todd and Kiaralinda were at a near-by flea market when they saw a deal for "10 Free Bowling Balls Per Person." They immediately grabbed twenty and called a few friends for back up. Soon enough they had bowling balls lining their entire property.

It all began with one funky beach home but the artists' have since scooped up neighboring real estate and allowed the 'Whimzey' to spread. Have you been by? Let us know what you think below!
