Skunk Ape
What is a Skunk Ape? Think of a 'bigfoot' that lives in the swamps of the southern United States.
Most encounters usually feature an inescapable odor hence the title 'Skunk'. Just like it's more well known cousin bigfoot, the creature is described as a large, hairy ape and is usually seen moving through the tree line and crossing roads. It is suggested that they dwell in air pockets of underground alligator dens, absorbing a lot of stinky methane plus it is hot causing just about everything to sweat in Florida, including the Skunk Ape.
The most famous photo of the Swamp Ape was taken in Myakka, Florida where an elderly woman snapped two pictures of what she thought was an escaped Orangutan. The creature's glowing, piercing eyes are the stuff of nightmares. Lettuce Lake video footage, which was filmed near Tampa, shows a large, humanoid shadowy shape moving from a log into the swamp water.
