Gulf Breeze

In 1987, a rash of UFO sightings gripped the quiet coastal town of Golf Breeze.​

Gulf Breeze received national and international attention as it became the home to some of the best-known UFO sightings in history

​

Most dismiss the UFO photos at the center of the Gulf Breeze Sightings as a hoax but so many people experienced the phenomenon first hand which helps to keep the events in question.

Ed Walters, a building contractor, began coming forward with photos of UFOs he took in his front yard. Walters claimed to have seen and photographed UFOs on various occasions during the fall and winter of 1987. It became a media sensation and before you knew it hundreds were claiming to see UFOs over Gulf Breeze, including politicians.

Walters' photos were considered by some at the time to be some of the best photographic evidence of UFOs. He eventually moved and the owner of his old house found a model of a "flying saucer" in the attic. This helped sway the public that the photos were indeed manufactured.

The Gulf Breeze Sightings were referenced on "The X-Files,'' studied by The History Channel and still debated by many to this day.
