Winter time is a little unusual in Florida. Without snow, grey skies and a chill in the air it is a struggle to feel seasonal but we try our best. Aside from the beautiful mild weather that makes the rest of the country jealous, Florida boasts some unique winter attractions.

Manatee watching at the springs - When the ocean and river temperatures drop, manatees make their way to the inland Springs where water temperatures stay in the 70's year round. It is quite a sight to see groupings of these large sea mammals in the wild. Blue Springs State Park is one of the more popular and predicable locations to see them.

Nights of Lights - Each year from Mid-November through the end of January, St. Augustine is illuminated in millions of white lights creating an enchanting atmosphere in the already lovely Oldest City.

Parades- For holiday festivities, a lot of communities feature boat or lawn mower parades. The participants deck out their rides and proudly display their creativity.

Christmas, FL - This small central Florida town remains decorated year-round and the post office is a hot spot for the holidays due to the festive special stamp and 'Christmas, FL' sent on every piece of mail.

Surfing Santas - Imagine that! While the elves are up north getting everything ready for the big day, Santa is hanging ten.

Whale Watching - Endangered Right whales are seen off the Atlantic coast of Florida from Jacksonville to Daytona in winter months (December through March). Public piers are some of the best viewing points.
